Monte Verde is the name of a Telire River crossing between the Rio Congo crossing and the Bis Jula crossing. At this location there are trails on each side of the river. The ability to cross the river allows one access to an easier trail, a fortunate circumstance if you are very young, are carrying the very young or you happen to be elderly. Once again, canyon walls make climbing out of the river if you fall in impossible. Also the walls allow the river to rise rapidly and the bridge is often washed away. Also, like the other bridges on the Telire, this bridge cannot be constructed without the use of a helicopter. Maybe, like me, you are beginning to see how many ways the lives of the Indians in Talamanca could be touched and changed with a helicopter based here in Talamanca.
